The crossing between the city of Cananeia and the bay of Paranagua city provide the contact with the one of the best preserved regions whith the Atlantic rainforest in Brasil, formed by a great estuary and surrounded by mangrove. The region has deserted beaches, is inhabited by dolphins, otters, yellow-bellied alligators, purple-faced parrots, black lion face monkey and others animals. Its vast mangrove swamps are visited by spoonbills, herons, scarlet ibis, kingfishers, among many other birds. The Atlantic rainforest still offers river and waterfall baths to refresh. The Ribeira River Highlands State Tourist Park, better known by the acronym PETAR, is a Brazilian park located in the south of the state of São Paulo, between the municipalities of Apiaí and Iporanga. It was created in 1958 with the aim of improving the public's concept of the environment, with the initiative of USP's ecological studies, which led the government to enact law no. 32 283, which would allow the area to be closed to tourism in caves, waterfalls and forests and for studies by universities and ecological research laboratories on the Atlantic Forest.Rich in diversity and natural beauty, it has one of the largest number of caves in the world and is considered a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. *** This expedition can be do it paddling outrigger canoes or kayaks, but this expedition in recommended to who already have any paddle experience, because in one of the days we will paddle almost 30 miles. But paddle across the mangrove is one stunning experience. Expedition time line: DAY 01: SP/IPORANGA 06:00 am - The tour guide will be waiting for you in the arrival gate in Guarulhos Airport/BRASIL. 10:00 am - Departure for Iporanga/SP and in the way visit to the first cave we will visit in the Ribeira River Highlands Touristic State Park. 04:00 pm – Expected arrival in Iporanga and dinner. DAY 02: IPORANGA (Ribeira River Highlands Touristic State Park) 08:00 am – Breakfast. 09:00 am – Let’s visit one cave in the morning, lunch and visit another cave in the afternoon. 05:00 pm – Expected return to the Inn. DAY 03: IPORANGA/CANANÉIA/CARDOSO ISLAND STATE PARK 08:00 am – Breakfast. 09:00 am – We leave Iporanga and go to Cananéia. 11:00 am - Expected arrival in Cananéia, walking tour, lunch and departure by boat to the Marujá village in the Cardoso Island State Park. 07:00 pm - Dinner. DAY 04: CARDOSO ISLAND STATE PARK 06:00 am - Breakfast. 07:00 am - Today we will walk 8 miles to one natural pool crossing the beach of Lage, one of the most beautiful deserted beaches in Brasil. 05:30 pm - Expected return in Marujá village Cardoso Island. 07:00 pm - Dinner. DAY 05: CARDOSO ISLAND STATE PARK 08:00 am - Breakfast. 09:00 am - Let's visit the Grande waterfall and rest the day at the beach and know the village surroundings. 07:00 pm - Dinner. DAY 06: CARDOSO ISLAND STATE PARK/SUPERAGUI NATIONAL PARK/MEL'S ISLAND 07:00 am - Breakfast. 09:00 am - Start of the boat tour to Mel's Island. 11:30 am - Expected arrival in Mel's Island, check-in lunch and discovery surroundings in the afternoon. 07:00 pm - Dinner. DAY 07: MEL's ISLAND 08:00 am - Breakfast. 09:30 am - Start of the walking tour until the Our Lady of Pleasures Fortress building in 1767 and the Mel's island Lighthouse. In the way have a lunch or snack. 07:30 pm - Dinner. DAY 08: MEL'S ISLAND/PARANAGUÁ/MORRETES/CURITIBA 08:00 am - Breakfast. 09:30 am - Departure to city tour in Paranaguá, and after to Morretes where you will taste one tradicional meal whith more than 300 yaers, the "barreado" meat cooked in one clay pote sealed whith flour and water. 03:00 pm - Train trip trough the Atlantic forest going up the Sea Range (2.500 ft) until to the coastal plateau. 0:630 pm - Expected arrival in Curitiba. 07:30 pm - Dinner. DAY 09: CURITIBA/SÃO PAULO 08:00 am - Breakfast. 09:30 am - City tour Curitiba. 12:30 pm - Lunch. 15:00 pm - Departure to São Paulo. 20:00 am - Expected arrival in São Paulo, dinner and check-in. DAY 10: SÃO PAULO SIGHTSEEING/GRU AIRPORT 08:00 am - Breakfast. 09:00 am - Sightseeing and visit to São Paulo City Museum. 01:00 pm - Farewell lunch. 03:00 pm - Sightseeing and GRU airport. 06:00 pm - Expected drop in GRU airport. El cruce entre la ciudad de Cananeia y la bahía de Paranaguá permite acceder a una de las regiones mejor conservadas de la selva atlántica en Brasil, formada por un gran estuario y rodeada de manglares. La región cuenta con playas vírgenes y está habitada por delfines, nutrias, caimanes de vientre amarillo, loros de cara púrpura, monos de cara de león negro y otros animales. Sus extensos manglares son visitados por espátulas, garzas, ibis escarlata, martines pescadores, entre muchas otras aves. La selva atlántica aún ofrece baños en ríos y cascadas para refrescarse. El Parque Estatal Turístico de las Tierras Altas del Río Ribeira, más conocido por sus siglas PETAR, es un parque brasileño ubicado al sur del estado de São Paulo, entre los municipios de Apiaí e Iporanga. Fue creada en 1958 con el objetivo de mejorar la percepción pública del medio ambiente, gracias a la iniciativa de los estudios ecológicos de la USP, lo que llevó al gobierno a promulgar la Ley n.º 32283, que permitió el cierre al turismo en cuevas, cascadas y bosques, así como la realización de estudios por parte de universidades y laboratorios de investigación ecológica en la Mata Atlántica. Rica en diversidad y belleza natural, posee una de las mayores concentraciones de cuevas del mundo y es Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la UNESCO. *** Esta expedición se puede realizar en canoas polinesias o kayaks, pero se recomienda para quienes ya tengan experiencia remando, ya que en uno de los días remaremos casi 48 kilómetros. Remar a través del manglar es una experiencia inolvidable. Cronograma de la expedición: DÍA 1: SP/IPORANGA 06:00 h - El guía turístico les estará esperando en la puerta de llegadas del aeropuerto de Guarulhos (Brasil). 10:00 h - Salida hacia Iporanga (SP). De camino, visitaremos la primera cueva del Parque Estatal Turístico de las Tierras Altas del Río Ribeira. 16:00 h - Llegada prevista a Iporanga y cena. DÍA 2: IPORANGA (Parque Estatal Turístico de las Tierras Altas del Río Ribeira) 08:00 h - Desayuno. 09:00 h - Visita a una cueva por la mañana. Almuerzo y visita a otra cueva por la tarde. 17:00 h - Regreso previsto al hotel. DÍA 3: IPORANGA/CANANÉIA/PARQUE ESTATAL ISLA CARDOSO 08:00 - Desayuno. 09:00 - Salida de Iporanga hacia Cananéia. 11:00 - Llegada prevista a Cananéia, recorrido a pie, almuerzo y salida en barco hacia el pueblo de Marujá, en el Parque Estatal Isla Cardoso. 19:00 - Cena. DÍA 4: PARQUE ESTATAL ISLA CARDOSO 06:00 - Desayuno. 07:00 - Hoy caminaremos 13 km hasta una piscina natural, cruzando la playa de Lage, una de las playas desiertas más hermosas de Brasil. 17:30 - Regreso previsto al pueblo de Marujá, Isla Cardoso. 19:00 - Cena. DÍA 5: PARQUE ESTATAL ISLA CARDOSO 08:00 - Desayuno. 09:00 - Visita a la cascada Grande. Día de descanso en la playa y exploración de los alrededores. 19:00 - Cena. DÍA 6: PARQUE ESTATAL ISLA CARDOSO / PARQUE NACIONAL SUPERAGUI / ISLA DE MEL 07:00 - Desayuno. 09:00 - Inicio de la excursión en barco a la Isla de Mel. 11:30 - Llegada prevista a la Isla de Mel. Registro, almuerzo y exploración de los alrededores por la tarde. 19:00 - Cena. DÍA 7: ISLA DE MEL 08:00 - Desayuno. 09:30 - Inicio del recorrido a pie hasta la Fortaleza de Nuestra Señora de los Placeres (construida en 1767) y el Faro de la Isla de Mel. Para almorzar o merendar, disfrute de un refrigerio. 19:30 - Cena. DÍA 8: ISLA DE MEL/PARANAGUÁ/MORRETES/CURITIBA 08:00 - Desayuno. 09:30 - Salida para el recorrido por la ciudad de Paranaguá y, posteriormente, a Morretes, donde degustará un plato tradicional con más de 300 años de antigüedad: el "barreado", carne cocinada en una olla de barro sellada con harina y agua. 15:00 - Viaje en tren a través de la Selva Atlántica, ascendiendo la Cordillera del Mar (762 m) hasta la meseta costera. 18:30 - Llegada prevista a Curitiba. 19:30 - Cena. DÍA 09: CURITIBA/SAO PAULO 08:00 - Desayuno. 09:30 - Visita a la ciudad de Curitiba. 12:30 - Almuerzo. 15:00 - Salida hacia São Paulo. 20:00 - Llegada prevista a São Paulo, cena y check-in. DÍA 10: TURISMO DE SÃO PAULO/AEROPUERTO GRU 08:00 - Desayuno. 09:00 - Paseo y visita al Museo de la Ciudad de São Paulo. 13:00 - Almuerzo de despedida. 15:00 - Visita turística y aeropuerto GRU. 18:00 - Llegada prevista al aeropuerto GRU.
